With
great sadness we have to come to terms with the fact that as a result
of
serious illness Igor Chýra left us on Friday 8.5.2009.
Igor
lived in Zajezova since 1991. He was at the very centre of the
foundation
of the Society for Harmonious Living, establishing the eco-community
Sekier, Food Bank, reconstruction of Slamienka and many other projects
aimed at local development and promoting ideas of sustainable living.
Most of his time and life force went to the Recycling Centre - which
collected
and separated waste for Pliesovce and surrounding villages.
Protection
of nature, not wasting resources and inspiration by the simplicity
and self-sufficiency of our ancestors were at the centre of his life
philosophy. With his charisma and personal example he motivated many,
especially
young people to ponder those values and to adopt them.
Igor
found his rest now, but we will miss him...
It
was an honour knowing a man like him!

Slovak Republic.
