The semi-secluded farmhouse in Polomy was purchased in early nineties
by a non-governmental organization, which was here before us with a
purpose to build an eco-centre here. This ambitious project was never
accomplished and the house was only partly reconstructed. Despite this
fact, we organized weekend breaks, courses and summer camps here. We
bought the house in 2001 and we were able to continue the
reconstructions. A lot has been accoplished but there is more work to
be done. We lack the funds for further reconstructions; we raise money
by hiring the venue and also organizing events there.
We are adapting Polomy for the needs of short time stays for a maximum
of 30, not-too demanding participants. At present there are three rooms on Polomy - one
large community room, one smaller room with simple bunk beds for
approximately 15 people to sleep on and there is a kitchen in the
building opposite. The participants have to bring their own sleeping
bags and mats. In the summer it is very nice to sleep on the hay-loft or in the open air in the orchard. There is good place for
camping next to the house. You will enjoy beautiful surroundings -
meadows, apple trees, stream.
We expect that our visitors will observe few simple rules:
- respect towards the entrusted property, surrounding nature and the
neighbours (recycling your waste, economical usage of water, limiting
night noise, etc.)
- if you decide to drink alcohol than do so only symbolically, please.
No drugs!
- there are other conditions, which vary and which we will tell you on
your arrival.
You can hire Polomy for your own events.
Fees:
- accommodation for one person per day - 50 Sk, minimum 10 people, so
minimal charge is 500 Sk, max 20 people - 1000 Sk per day
- craft lecturers - prices vary
- guides and cooks - prices vary
We can provide part of the food from local sources.
