How to get to Zajezova
Zajezova lies in the centre of Slovakia approximately 15 km SE from
city Zvolen, in the middle of mountains called Javorie. It is comprised
of approximately 200 secluded farmhouses, which are scattered on quite
an extensive territory. Each smallholding has its name - Polomy,
Sekier, Castobrezie, Podlysec - those are just some of them. Zajezova
is separated from Zvolen by one of the side ridges of the mountains
Javorie, the access to it is therefore by road from Pliesovce, or from
the other side through Víglas and Slatinske Lazy. There are two
valleys, which connect Zajezova and Zvolen, at the end of them there
are also secluded dwellings, which belong to the town. From the last
stop of Zvolens' local bus line in Kralova or Sekier-hajovna it is
possible to walk over the mentioned ridge to Zajezova in about an hour.
This is convenient, if you your destination is Sekier or Castobrezie.
To Polomy and other parts of Zajezova the journey extends by another
hour.

How to get to Zajezova via Pliesovce (destination Polomy)
At the bus station in
Zvolen (opposite of the train station) find platform No. 15. All the
buses from that platform go through Pliesovce - village on halfway to Zajezova.
There go relatively often and it takes 30 minutes to get to Pliesovce from
Zvolen. From Pliesovce to
Zajezova the buses run at the following times: 6:45 (working days), 7:30
(weekends and holidays), 11:35(working days), 12:15 (only Sunday),
14:15 (working days except July, August, Christmas time), 15:30(Sunday
and holidays), 16:10(working days), 19:00 (only Friday).
Direct buses between Zvolen and Zajezova leave Zvolen at 6:10 (working
days), 11:00 (working days), 15:40 (working days). On Sunday there is a
bus at 11:00 which goes through Viglas and ends in top part of Zajezova (Podlysec).
If you want to get to centre from there you need to go on walking down the
valley for 20 minutes.
If you are going to Polomy, ask the driver for a ticket to
stop Bosakovci and tell him to stop without notice, because you don’t
know where it is. You will know the bus stop easily - it is white with drawn
flowers and cats. From the stop turn
right from the main road go on paved road across little bridge and uphill
After about 15 minutes you will see yellow wall of the
first house on your right. It is about 100 metres from the road. This is your
destination - Polomy.
If you go to Sekier prefer travelling through Kralova. If you go through
Pliesovce get of at "Zajezova - Razcestie" (Crossroad) with red
new-painted wooden bus stop. From there go right to the mountain ridge.
Follow signs. It takes 45 minutes to walk to Sekier.
How to get to Zajezova by Public
Transport - through Kralova (to Sekier and Castobrezie)
In Zvolen, board the bus No. 11 towards Kralova. This bus starts at the
bus/railway station and goes through the town centre. Please, don’t get
confused and don’t board the bus No. 20 or another one, which has written
direction "Sekier" - as this is a housing estate in Zvolen with the same name like
the farmhouse in Zajezova. Bus No. 11 leaves Zvolen at 6:15 (working
days), 7:00 weekend and holidays), 12:30, 15:50 (last bus except Friday
and Sunday), 18:10 (only on Friday and Sunday). Go all the way to the last stop.
From there you
turn left, the first 20m on the road, which leads to a house and than
take the path, which leads up through the meadow all the way to the
ridge. Do not turn right in the middle of the hill, as the path leads
to a gypsy village. Go all the way to the ridge and walk for about 30
min through the meadows and woods until you reach a place on the
meadow, where the path goes right from the ridge - down into the woods.
Continue straight ahead. You will find the correct turn, which leads
down the meadow past a nearby tall wooden pole. About 500 metres under
the ridge you will find the farmhouse Sekier, the centre of our
organization. If you would like to continue to Zajezova, ask there for
the directions. If you would like to go to Castobrezie, continue from
the pole walking on top of the ridge following the path and you will
reach your destination in about 20 minutes. Do not turn right on the
crossroads after the meadow.
How to get to Zajezova by car
You
can reach Zajezova from the west through Pliesovce, or
from the east through Víglas. The journey through Pliesovce lasts
approximately the same time as the one through Víglas. It is however
much more demanding orientation-wise and we therefore recommend the
second option. From Zvolen, drive in the direction of Kosice and turn
right after the village Víglas in the direction of Slatinske Lazy.
After you enter Slatinske Lazy ride 500 m to crossroad and leave the
main road towards centre of the village. Go on through Slatinske Lazy
and later through Kalinka. 8-10 km after those villages you will reach
a
saddleback. That’s how you will know that you are in Zajezova. If you
would like to go to Polomy, drive between scattered houses for about 5
km and after going past a Co-op on the right, turn left from the main
road. The first house on your right after about 100 metres drive is
your destination - Polomy.
If you are going to Sekier, turn right before the Co-op at the
crossroads, which you will recognize by a new-painted wooden bus stop. Follow the
broken asphalt road, turn right on the second turning. If you follow
this gravel road, you can drive all the way to Podsekier - a group of
three farmhouses. In the house on the right from the road live our
friends, you can park there and continue on foot. Sekier is about 20
minutes walk on a footpath up the hill.
If you decided to take the root via Pliesovce, pay attention on the
crossroads after this small town. The signposts are confusing, you
always have to go left (in the direction of Zajezova, Slatinske Lazy).
There is a Welcome sign at the beginning of Zajezova. If you are going
to Polomy, turn right at the first turning and continue until you will
see the first house about 100 metres on right from the road. If you are
going to Sekier continue past the Co-op to the crossroads with a wooden
bus stop and than follow the instructions above.
