We organize many workshops, seminars and summer
camps in Zajezka. Almost all of them are held in Slovak or Czech language,
so we do not publish them in this part of web page. If you are to
participate anyway look on Slovak version of this page or contact
us.
Open Door Weekends on Sekier
-
usually each first weekend of month
- the goal is to present Sekier
to people who can not come for longer
- programme includes volunteer
work (6 hrs), non-formal education (crafts, nature recognition,
traditional culture, food processing, permaculture) - each weekend is
focused on something else
- the price is usually 15 €/weekend

provided accommodation is very simple - sleeping bags and mats are
needed - see pictures

- the amount of participants is limited to 10,
registration is needed
- the eco-community Sekier is international,
english and slovak languages are used for communication

Short-term EVS in Zajezka:
Demonstrational Straw-bale House
We look for participants of short-term project of "European
Voluntary Service". Our goal is to build small straw-bale house by load-bearing
technique (it means without supporting structure - a roof is laying directly on
strawbale walls).
Travel costs, food and accommodation is reimbursed in exchange
for 30 hours of help per week. Moreover volunteers will get pocket money 95 €,
they will have covered insurance and there will be additional programme prepared
for them.
Conditions for participants:
- age 18-30 years (on 1st
April 2011)
- permanent residence in one of these countries: Germany, Czech rep.,
Bulgaria, Denmark, Greece
- this must be 1st EVS project of the participant
- participation on whole event - from first to last day
- will to actively
help and learn through practical work

Workshop: building with natural materials
If you are interested in building with natural materials and if you
like to get some hands-on experience with them, this workshop is just perfect
for you. Experienced lecturers from Zajezova have prepared a program for you, in
which you get not only theoretical information, but you will touch both straw
and clay. You will try different techniques, some of them just as samples,
others on a larger scale.

Educational centre to rent for
your events
We are offering space in our educational centre for
your events. The capacity is 30 beds. The builind and its surrounding is
designed to present natural building, permaculture, non-fossil energy resources
and eco-friendly lifestyle in general. Look on this pictures to see how it looks
like. Under certain conditions we are able to cooperate also in programme part
of your event (lecturing, team building games, etc.). The price is 6,90 eur per
night/person and less than 9,50 eur for food/day/person. This is basic price, it
is possible to rent other services for extra fee.
The centre is used almost
every day during season, so you need to rent it 6-12 months forward if you are
interested.
This place is not for individual visits or for smaller groups
than 12 people. We prefere to host educational activities there.
